Interview Questions:

  1. BB News: Dr. Lora, how do you balance your roles as a doctor and an author, and do they influence each other?

Ans : That is ofcourse not a cakewalk. But when you know what your goals are. What your passion is,things fall into place swiftly. The common thing about both is,you heal either with words or with antidotes. So the blessing is on me of course, at least I am able to heal people physically and emotionally. When emotions come,I pen them down irrespective of how good or bad the write up is.I just make sure my profession and passion just walk in parallel and don’t intersect.

Regarding influence of one on other,I won’t say it does.Because Doctors don’t have a soft heart like a writer who only deals with emotions. But God’s grace,I manage to have both, an ice heart and a fragile one too, depending on the situation.

  1. BB News: Can you share the inspiration behind your solo book “I am Love” and how it reflects your perspective on romance?

Ans :If I am asked to mention exactly what was the inspiration,I will say my own poetries. At times I read them just to calm my own soul.So it was a normal day when I decided I could compile my poems in a quirky way in the form of a paperback just to see my name in the cover page.Because,Hands down, that feeling is surreal for a writer always.”I am Love” will always be my pride for a lifetime.

Eight out of my 10 poems will have romance genre. So I was certain my debut solo book will always be on Romance. The book takes you on a soft ride with bumps of heartbreak at the start and a happily ever after at the end.My perspective on romance is seeing love in versatile ways.My book describes romance in nine forms of love in the 55 poems, which will make you realise,Cupid conspires with the universe to send you love in the right time.

  1. BB News: As someone who enjoys various book genres, how do you approach the creative process differently for each one?

Ans :Even though I write more on romance, reading poems and writeups of every genre is always fun.I do write on other genres like social cause or horror or mystery, but those take me to a tougher side of my pen.You need to stand in the place of a protagonist to feel the horror or the victim very deeply in your nerves,to jot them down in the form of a poem.Nevertheless,it’s heart wrenching to feel and write such but when you complete you feel versatile enough. So that’s satisfying because a writer has to bring the creative in words in every genre possible.

  1. BB News: We’ve heard about your unique tradition of going on dates with pen and paper. How does this ritual contribute to your writing style and creativity?

Ans : I Love that line of mine when I say ‘Going on dates with pen and paper.’It sounds subtly romantic being a writer. That has become a phrase when I am asked to say few words about myself.Writing on a pen and paper has it’s own charm just like reading a paperback is more enchanting than reading a poetry in Instagram caption.Seeing your discarded poems in the bin or around your table, you realise how desperately you are trying to bring out the best poem on the paper.Though we all are in digital age, backspace feels better throwing a half written paper in the bin.I won’t lie,I do write on phone screens too.But I will still be rooting for pen and paper on my every solo date.

  1. BB News: What advice do you have for aspiring authors, particularly those with demanding professions, on maintaining persistence and versatility in their craft?

Ans:The only simple advice for aspiring author will be to write every emotions their hearts feel without bothering how their write up will turn out to be,how much grammatical errors are there, how people will like or comment.Because in the process of putting down a perfect poem in the paper,we forget to enjoy the journey of writing which makes us feeel that we are not worthy enough to write.Slow and steady has always been a winner. The flawed poetries will reach more hearts than the flawless ones.Keep learning from other authors.Having strong vocabularies is not obligatory,it just adds cream to your poetry cake.None of us need to be Robert Frost or Ravinder Singh,we all just need to be the best version of our own self. When one poem fails,we can sharpen our pen and pat our heart softly,to write another one.Days later, your pen will write better poems and you will be surrounded with adequate appreciations.Keep writing.Keep hustling.Make your passion your love and not just an option.
