Our freedom fighters! Remember those men and women who gave their lives for the freedom of our country? Remember those heroes who put their lives on the line and allowed a nation to free itself from the shackles of a foreign power?

Fighters with an undying spirit, who loved the nation, built it from brick to brick lifted the nation from despair and made it independent for the future to prosper.

What did our freedom fighters do?

They say beyond the present, envisioned a future that would be worthwhile for the future and rise as an independent model nation that the world would stand up and notice.

Yet, let’s ask ourselves this question: have we honoured the sacrifices of our freedom fighters enough? Have we created a nation that they dreamed of, and have we done justice with the abundance of resources that we have?

Our freedom fighters fought for centuries for the free air that we breathe and the lands where we will! Have we given them their due and will each day of our lives be enough to thank them for the freedom we love?

Respect and admiration for all the freedom fighters who have defined India – the golden nation. May each Indian be proud of the rich heritage, history and culture of the nation.

This quote by Bal Gangadhar Tilak makes me brim with pride:

‘Swaraj is my birthright, and I shall have it!’

Jai Hind, and let the contributions and sacrifices of our freedom fighters remind us about India: Saare Jahan Se Achcha, Hindustan Hamaara!
