Author Rohit Shetty talks about his Journey of Becoming an Author
It’s always a great feeling when you are rewarded for your achievements. This innate thing is embedded in our mind right from the time when we are born. Our parents always keep high expectations on us.They always want us to raise the bar.We are always pampered by our parents that if you achieve a particular task you will be rewarded for what you achieve. The same happens to us when we grow up.In order to earn a lot of money we toil a lot and give our best. There are many commitments to fulfill, desires to achieve, milestones to conquer and to convert dreams into reality. However when we grow up we are made to understand that the process is more important than the outcome.Success and Failures are the two things in life which each one of us have to experience.
Everyone has a story to tell.Either they are confined to hearts or are written in books. This happened to me at one stage in life.I wanted to be a Chartered Accountant but destiny had some other plans for me.I became an author.
This is a story of a boy, excellent in academics but had to overcome depression to make a living. He had dreams of a great career but had to face failures. He was diagnosed with schizophrenia and was told that he had to live his life with medications. He lost his father when he was about to give his final exams. To make things work,he opted to give up his job in a CA firm and gradually had to come to the corporate world. Having less time to study he had to let go his aspirations of becoming a CA.
At one stage in life his colleague in the corporate world discovered his ability in writing when he saw his collection of poems. They were so beautifully rhymed that he insisted him to write more and to get it published rather than keeping it to himself. His words truly inspired him and he started his new journey as an author. He had already published four books in a span of 7 years but didn’t get any recognition and also the sales were not so high.He always reminded himself that one should give importance to the efforts rather than the outcome of the efforts. He still does.
Come the year 2023. He was approached to be a co author of the book “Woman The Warrior”.Since then he had participated in various anthologies and got recognition for his writing. Also he was awarded with many trophies and medals from a media house in Orissa. He still continues to write and wants to share a lot of stories to his readers. He got awarded for his contribution in Tokyo Conference at an International Level. He was awarded for his book “When Success is the only choice” as the best book of the year.He was also presented with The Inspiring India award and Rashtriya Parichay award. He aspires for fame and recognition and will continue to do so in future.
This is my journey as an author. For me life is sometimes a puzzle.Success is not assured but perseverance matters. You never know what life has in store for you.But put in your efforts and never give up.
