” Mom ” – What does it actually mean ?

A wonderful writeup by Author Riddhima Sen

Mom is not just a word, it is an emotion. Some words are more than mere lexicographic symbols. When a child is born, the child instantly recognizes its mother. The bond between a mother and her child is unbreakable. It is more than the blood cells and umbilical cord that are connected to the child, something beyond the thing that is tangible and visible. Mothers breastfeed the child immediately after birth and nourishes the child despite being tired and worn out herself. She tends to the newborn infant always, when the child falls sick she sings sweet lullabies to make them sleep. She feeds them whenever they are hungry, and comforts them when they are sad. Even when we grow up, it never really changes. Mother still remains the tender, loving mother she was before.

When we catch a cold, she still stays up all night to tend to us and to ensure that we are taking our medicines properly. It is often said that God cannot be present everywhere, so he created mothers to protect children. The taste of the puri chole made by mothers is truly incomparable, and the restaurant food is nothing in comparison to it. Moms comb and oil our hair every day, even if we are twenty years old or something. We are always their child for them, their little infant. In abusive households, the mother often protects the child from the abusive father. It’s really difficult to lead a good life without a mother to care for us. I still cherish the memory of visiting Alipore Zoo with my mother when I was in sixth grade. The weather was really pleasant, as the sunshine was high across the horizon. The purplish pink sky is etched in golden letters in the corner of my heart .
