- What inspired you to delve into the world of writing, and how do your experiences as a soft skills trainer influence your storytelling?

Ans – As a soft skills trainer I have always been a story teller. Using stories, complex topics can be easily explained and this has been part of my corporate life for a longtime. Writing was never regular but I did maintain a diary and the same became my first book after a close friend and writer Late Chetan Singh saw it (God bless his soul – I lost him during Covid pandemic). Chetan, a writer himself, read my diary in 2018 and thought it was good enough to be published as a book; he was particularly interested in the part where I had chronicled my childhood memories. He wanted me to share my memories with the world and that is how my writing journey started. 10 authored books and 2 co-authored books later writing is still going strong and I don’t intend to stop anytime soon.
- Your latest book, “The Hunter Genesis – Revelation,” promises an intriguing narrative. Can you provide us with a glimpse into what readers can expect from this instalment of the series?
Ans – The Hunter Genesis Book 1 (Whatever it is, wherever it is, he will find it) was launched in Jan 2023. It chronicled the Hunter and his team’s journey to search for the legendary weapons which have been hidden from mankind for ages. The Hunter Genesis – Revelation, follows their adventures from where Book 1 left. Set against the backdrop of a tumultuous era marked by political intrigue, ‘The Hunter Genesis – Revelation’ follows the journey of intrepid adventurers as they continue their dangerous quest to locate and harness the ancient artefacts rumoured to possess unparalleled might. A diverse cast of characters converges in a race against time. From the bustling streets of Bombay to the remote corners of uncharted territories, each step brings them closer to unlocking the secrets of these mythical relics. The Hunter Genesis – Revelation takes the action and adventure to the next level.
- With such a diverse range of books in your repertoire, from fiction to essays, what draws you to explore different genres, and do you have a favourite among them?
Ans – I am an adventurer by nature and I love to explore different places. With each book, I have tried to explore different themes and subjects, action and adventure genres being my favourite. Since childhood I have been fascinated by superhero and adventure comics; Super Commando Dhruv, Nagraj, Chacha Chaudhary and the Hunter series has given me a chance to relive my childhood and create my own characters.
- As someone who enjoys outdoor activities and travel, how do these experiences find their way into your writing process, if at all?
Ans – I am a keen observer of my surroundings and this helps me with my stories a lot. I use everyday instances and characters in my fiction stories. Travelling also helps me with my thinking process and keeps my storytelling bucket filled all the time. My story writing process is very dynamic and I can even write while travelling in public transit.

- Could you share with us any memorable moments or challenges you faced while crafting your books?
Ans – Publishing my first book, Version One and a Half (Version 1 ½) was the most memorable moment for me. It will always remain close to my heart as, along with my childhood, it also talks about my parents and their role in my life. It will always be my biggest regret that I could not present my books to my father while he was still alive. I hope that he is proud of me up there.
Writing has never been an issue but designing, editing, publishing and marketing has always been challenging for self-published authors such as I. Everything involves a cost and more often than not self-published authors have to compromise on one of the above. While 3 of my books are published traditionally, I am more comfortable with self-publishing despite all the challenges. The entire publishing industry has become a money minting factory with many vanity publishers out there wanting to cheat authors and that is why I feel safer self-publishing my books because I can control the budget and services I utilise. Biggest challenge in this day and age is that you can never trust anyone or organisation online, so authors need to tread carefully when it comes to getting things done online.
- What advice would you offer to aspiring writers looking to embark on their literary journey?
Ans – Don’t wait for perfection, you will never achieve perfection. Draw a line and stop making iterations to your story and get your book out now.
- Lastly, what can readers anticipate from your upcoming projects, including the third instalment of “The Hunter” series and your collection of stories?
Ans – When I started writing the first book in the Hunter series, I had never imagined the kind of response it received so I envisioned something big while writing Book 2. I not only wanted to complete the journey that began in Book 1, I also wanted to create a universe where more stories can be built around other characters. While the Hunter will always remain the focus, there are many interesting characters whose stories and background deserve solo books. I have already created the blueprint for Book 3 and it is already in the works.
As far as the short story collection goes, it will have 4 distinct stories; a post apocalyptic zombie story, a story set in colonial times, a story set during India’s freedom struggle and an action adventure story set around illegal immigration.
