  1. Your debut novel “Perhaps, Somebody is Late” has a unique title. Could you tell us about the inspiration behind the story and the meaning of the title?
Answer: As a youth, I have witnessed the craze of gadgets and social media in today’s world. This often leads us towards strangers and even without realising, we give each other the tag of ‘Long distance friends’. But, due to the geographical distance and the absence of direct contact, we are often a failure in signifying a person’s true potentiality and pious intentions. In the novel, “Perhaps , Somebody is Late”, the story of Drishti, Nikhil and Purab revolves around human curiosities, serendipitous moments and silent sacrifices. The simplicity of the three main characters, shapes our mind to value the efforts of people, exactly the way they deserve. And I’m pretty sure that the modern generation would be able to relate with the story in a deeper sense.
  2. As someone skilled in stenography, how do you balance your technical knowledge with your creative pursuits like writing and painting?
Answer: The technical world of stenography and the imaginary world of creativity is vastly different from each other. In fact, stenography can be firmly stated as the language of secretive documents. Whereas, my own thoughts and paintings demand significant recognition. The tactics of stenography reigns over my mind. But my creative pursuits reign over my heart.

  3. You are currently tutoring children—how has that experience shaped your outlook as a writer and a learner?
Answer: My relationship with the students have always been very friendly and funny. Every time I share my unique ideas with them, there will only be support and smiles from their side. Be it in terms of teaching or in terms of writing, they push me to highlight the actual concerning topics of our society. Even before becoming a writer or a tutor, I had realised that there is no endpoint to learning. Life is a teacher itself. All I can do is keep making myself better without looking back.

  4. What was the most challenging and the most rewarding part of publishing your first novel?
Answer: We all start from somewhere.  In the very beginning, the world of literature was totally unknown to me. I can just recall myself as an excited girl, who was determined to transform her words into a book. But the question was ‘how?’ Finding out a reliable publication house was the most challenging part. But with the collective help of my parents and Ajay Kumar Pandey Sir (a very well known Indian- Author) this particular problem was solved easily. In addition, if I talk about the most rewarding part, I would like to mention the day, when my book was finally available on Flipkart and Amazon. This feeling was more than awesome !

  5. How do your hobbies—like listening  to music, watching spiritual podcasts and exploring new places—influence your writing and creativity?
Answer: The soulful lyrics of music, the mind blowing historical tales related to vedic culture, the visual representation of my paintings and the hidden secrets of a new place, keeps me alive in this ever changing world. Only through them, I can connect myself to the world of imaginations and fictional stories start emerging from there. In a single sentence, they are the only source, where I find absolute solace.
  1.   What are your future goals as a writer? Can readers look forward to a sequel or another genre from you soon?
Answer: Our beloved country India, is proudly carrying the names of prominent authors and poets. Although, I have a strong desire to take my name up to the heights of successful writers, still my heart knows that the whole journey would be demanding my tireless efforts and sleepless nights. Moreover, my hands are already engaged in typing up the second fictional book, based on a typical Indian girl and her struggles. So, stay tuned !
