Indian comics were initially influenced by well-known Western comics.
Superman was one of the most famous American comics back in the day, before Indian comics were a niche of their own. Superheroes are something that kids have always loved. Henceforth, comics like Batman became a favourite amongst children. I remember that I used to read old romantic comics during my school vacation in my school, Delhi Public School Newtown. They had a vintage vibe to them. The old polka dot frocks, headbands and male characters—transported me to a world where I had not ventured before, or might not have been easy to venture into.
