Actions Matter
It is said, “What we sow, we do reap” (karma)
Now, this sentence emphasises
If a good act is set in progress
Goodness will follow
Now, let us take
Newton’s first law of physics (inertia)
Though it is a law about physics
It can be applied to reality
For it advocates that change is possible in the world
Only when action is set forth
This law is logical and understandable
But people forgot it over time
Now there is
Newton’s second law (acceleration)
Now again, this law transcends physics
And in the real world, this law implies
If more action is generated
Then the change will find itself accelerated
Now about
Newton’s third law (action and reaction)
This hints at the never-ending battle
Between good and evil
Now
There is this butterfly effect
A theory in the composition of the world
It states that any action we take matters
For our action causes a ripple
Affects all actions
From the flutter of a butterfly
To a volcanic eruption
Now
It can be debated that
The world is in misery
Since we have acted wrongly and foolishly
But that same butterfly effect assures
That the goodness we do
Will set change in progress
Thus, doctrines, philosophy, laws and theories
All say only one thing
That is “our actions matter and can cause change”
Thus, the only thing
Stopping us from performing good acts
Is ourselves
