Let’s read more about Author Saptak’s Poem Compositions

“Lightyears Apart”
Another morning with the same sun
Risen in my heart under a foggy sky
The wind still hurts the way it did
Faces change but they all pass me by.
Nights after days circling their way
Just as the same as the stupid clock goes
Should I ever smile even when I don’t
Feel like waking up every time it snows.
I wish I could hear the children laugh
Not the loud sirens of war everyday,
I wish it was the bitterness in my throat
Of the coffee you made in the afternoon of May.
Another moment and I look up in the sky
I can’t tell the difference between our hearts
Only the stars are well aligned up there
Yet here we dwell a thousand lightyears apart.

“Petrichor”
Sorry for being less than what I’m supposed to
Sorry for your canvas that I painted with imagination
Only to be blurred by the rain of reality
As the colours faded, I was haunted by desperation.
Sorry for remaining unfazed like a little child
You wanted me to man up but I wasn’t yet ready
You were deceived by the muscles of a Hercules
Underneath the casket died the soul of a teddy.
Sorry for living on the moon when you needed me here
To withstand the storms rattling what we live for
Sorry that I thought I was smelling your scent
While it was always the earth emanating the petrichor!

Loved light years apart
