It’s 2025! Spirituality, purpose and finding the light in your life have begun! Welcome to the Mahakumbh – perhaps the largest congregation of people in a city, which will be hosting the combined populations of the US and UK during the next 45 days.
Having begun on Jan 13, 2025, this once-in-a-lifetime celestial alignment-based purification event is attracting millions of people from all parts of the world – as they watch seers, sages, soothsayers, priests and disciples follow a strict diet, indulge in prayer, dip themselves in the Holy Ganges and the river triumvirate; also know as Triveni Sangam to undo current and accumulated sins, and purify their soul, becoming enlightened individuals in the process.
The magnitude of the Mahakumbh can be realized from the amount of investments by the Uttar Pradesh Government and associated sectoral governance bodies. No stone is being left unturned in ensuring each disciple and visitor finds peace and tranquillity by participating in the revered baths on certain holy days, chanting hymns to praise the creator of the Universe and praying in full throttle as humankind’s quest for salvation continues!
We pray and hope that the Mahakumbh – happening after 144 years does well and that all believers of the Hindu way of life imbibe themselves in traditions and seek peace at each step of their life’s journey!
