Drunk and Drive- An awareness Writeup by Riddhima Sen

There has been a recent upsurge regarding the Vadodara car crash. According to the alleged reports, accused Rakshit Chaurasia denies drunk driving. As per him, the potholes led him to loose control. The perpetrator is merely twenty-three years old. He claimed he lost control while driving the car at a speed of fifty kilometres per hour. Apparently, the eyewitnesses confirmed that he was absolutely drunk and out of control. As a consequence, there has been an outrage on social media. Drunk and drive cases have been noticed in the recent times, in a lot of cases.

It is absolutely unethical to be drunk and drive. When one needs to drive already, it is advisable to not drink and stay sober. Intoxicated driving can lead to dreadful consequences. Traffic police should take appropriate measures. People found guilty of drinking and driving should be fined heavily. The fine should be increased to a great extent. The increase in fine would effectively prevent people from drinking and driving. Drinking is anyways injurious to health. Drinking should be abhorred heavily. Driving is a huge responsibility in itself. One should drink only as much as one can tolerate, and not more than that .
