Extending gratitude to the needy by Riddhima Sen

The world is divided into two spheres. The world of the privileged is in stark contrast to that of the underprivileged. While the privileged can have access to anything they desire, the underprivileged has to strive for achieving things that they dream of. What are dreams made of, when your reality hits you hard, landing a punch on your face? Dreams on clouds and dreams on muddy puddles are very different from each other. Extending gratitude to the needy is something every person who is capable of sharing should do. A little bit of kindness never hurts.
The world is crumbling down on a daily basis because of human conflicts and troubles. The war struck areas of Palestine have particularly been witness to such violence and poverty – houses being raised to the ground, children being left with no food to eat at home and families being destroyed – it’s always the commoners who suffer, and not the people in power. The primary conflict is between the various prominent political powers; however, the price is paid oftentimes by the old man at the bridge, or a mutilated young child. India has witnessed massive scales of poverty during the very Partition of India. Being uprooted from their homes overnight, the people who once led a lavish life were forced to lead a life of adjustment and poverty – as refugees on the newly independent, freed land. Poverty is a direct result of inequal economic stratification of classes in the society .
