The Wisdom Within: Beyond the Echo
Knowledge must be chewed and digested. It is an allegory of a parrot to distinguish between rote learning and true realization. Knowledge favours wisdom while wisdom favours character.
The Echo of the Trapped
In the tender days of youth, a tale was told,
Of a parrot taught a lesson, brave and bold:
“The hunter comes, the net he flings,
The grain he scatters, but stay your wings!”
The bird memorized each word, each sound,
Until the rhythm was all he found.
But when the hunter stepped from the shade,
And the silken trap on the earth was laid,
The parrot landed to claim the seed,
Chanting the warning he failed to heed.
He knew the words, but not the why,
So into the snare, he chose to fly.
