“Mother Appeals to Warring Lodha Brothers to Settle Their Bitter Dispute”

Manju Lodha, the mother of real estate tycoons Abhishek and Abhinandan Lodha, has urged the two brothers to put an end to their ongoing dispute and honor the family agreement signed in March 2017. In a letter dated February 21, Manju requested that both brothers cease all conflicts immediately and refrain from making negative remarks about each other. She emphasized that neither brother has any right to interfere in the other’s business, assets, or shareholding, following the terms outlined in the amended family agreement. The Lodha family matriarch appealed for mutual respect and cooperation, encouraging the brothers to resolve their differences amicably.

The ongoing feud between Abhishek Lodha, managing director of Macrotech Developers (formerly Lodha Group), and his younger brother Abhinandan Lodha, chairman of the House of Abhinandan Lodha (HoABL), has attracted significant attention. Macrotech Developers recently filed a ₹5,000 crore lawsuit against HoABL, accusing the latter of unlawfully using the ‘Lodha’ brand name. The legal battle has added fuel to the growing tensions between the two, prompting their mother’s call for reconciliation and the adherence to the family agreement.

When reached for comment, Abhishek Lodha expressed respect for his mother’s letter and affirmed his commitment to following its guidance. In a statement, Abhishek said, “I respect my mother’s letter and will adhere to it. The 2017 agreement clearly states that the Lodha real estate business and its intellectual property rights, including the ‘Lodha’ trade name, are owned by and exclusively associated with Macrotech/Lodha Developers. I wish my younger brother, Abhinandan, all the best in his business. I hope he resolves this dispute by honoring the 2017 agreement and adopts a distinct, separate identity that avoids any confusion with our well-established and valuable ‘Lodha’ brand.”
