Book Tok is recently a very trendy, or in thing. On the positive side of things, it has given a major boost to self-published authors. Bringing numerous new books to the center of attention, it has made books of every genre under the sun accessible to each and every reader. However, reading has shifted from purely the joy of reading a freshly bought book, or the smell of the pages of a new book to a curated aesthetic- something that easily tags along well with a tote bag, or a mood board or in a short video clip.
Readers universal are facing another common issue currently . The attention span of readers is decreasing day by day, in a deteriorating manner.

The digital age has its own pros and cons. The habit of reading from pdfs during the lockdown in 2020 has effectively hampered the reading habits of school kids and college students. Complete dependency on electronic mediums and screens has instead become more laser focused on increased screen time. Even though book tok fictions fit perfectly well with the attention span of the modern generation readers , yet it sheds further light upon the fact that literature and the habit of reading is gradually disappearing with modern technological advancements .
