Diwali is a time of great exuberance,
There is unparalleled joy everywhere,
And by a strange quirk,
Sweets and pleasantries exchanged,
Seem sweeter at these times.

Now, at this junction,
A father finds rejuvenation,
By watching the happiness of his family,
As he worked hard only for that,
Thus he feels content.

It is also a time,
When kids forget the pressure imposed,
And find in them enthusiasm,
As Diwali whispers to their psyche,
“Let’s love and live,
And let’s spread happiness.”

Now Diwali also demonstrates courtesy,
For it may be the time,
When even enemies patch up.

Thus the Diwali festival promises,
That it will continue to spread happiness forever
