“Handcrafted Elegance: Tradition Meets Artistry.” by Riddhima Sen

Handicrafts are an essential part of the economy. It is a part of the manual labour industry, yet so unique. Employees of the taant industry in Bengal are an excellent example of this. Taant sarees are a big part of the textile industry in West Bengal.

The sarees are especially handwoven using a machine. Colourful threads are spun using a machine, where they are stacked together and create a beautiful saree, for example, a blue saree embroidered with a gold and light green border .

However, another category is handicrafted jewellery. Jewellery is often made using gold and silver generally. In Assam, jewelleries are handicrafted using threads, sequins, and other materials. Such jewellery reduces the chances of the rates of jewellery increasing.

Generally, gold rates of gold ornaments are on a hike in current times as well. The same applies to silver jewellery as well. This dwindling industry needs to be revised and extended till the walls of fame. Assamese fashion hub couture is indeed extremely unique, and that has been proved again because of the handicrafted jewellery industry. Ropes can also be used to make the jewellery. It is an exemplary form of art, which deserves recognition to the fullest.
